With an inner city hipster vibe and an organic menu peppered with buzz words like raw, acai and quinoa, Bella Natural Food Co in Terrigal has transformed from a humble grocer into the Central Coast’s “it” café.
While it doesn’t look like much from the outside (it’s the old Terrigal fruit shop), Bella is right on trend with the Coast’s emerging chic crowd, including local models and Instagram stars Jessica Stein (@tuulavintage) and Nicole Warne (@garypeppergirl), who often post about their healthy brunches there.
The café has a back-to-basics style with wooden tables and smatterings of fresh herbs in pots.
The simple furnishings convey the right message – it’s all about the food.
With so many interesting ingredients on the menu, it really is a tough decision choosing what to eat.
It all sounds delicious and, in most cases, relatively guilt-free.
Coastal Chic favourites include Bella’s banana bread with organic honeycomb, vegetarian bruschetta, falafel burgers, quinoa and sweet potato rissoles, and all the raw treats.
Smoothies arrive in jars and food on wooden boards – both begging to be Instagrammed.
It’s no wonder the café encourages social media interaction, the rustic display of colourful ingredients is photogenic under any filter.
With a steady stream of brunchers and lunchers pouring into the café to browse the organic cheeses, fruit and veg, or collect a Toby’s Estate coffee, there is a perpetual buzz about Bella.
And the best part is that after a thoroughly enjoyable meal, we often feel like we’ve indulged without the guilt – such is the beauty of a #bellanatural brunch.
Coastal Chic Tip: If you don’t want to be hit with a surcharge, don’t use your phone at the counter.
