chic (pron sheek): elegantly & stylishly fashionable; casual, understated style that expresses a specified trendy lifestyle
Coastal Chic is an ode to our beautiful backyard – the Central Coast of New South Wales.
With its picturesque waterways, breathtaking views, peaceful bushland, quaint seaside towns and coastal chic vibe, we reckon our stretch of the Aussie coastline is coastal living at its best.
The Coast has always been beautiful but we’re noticing that it’s evolving and maturing into a place of beachy elegance, with an influx of city-slickers changing the fabric of the region.
With every trendy new cafe, restaurant and bar that opens, and all the seaside boutiques and shops selling the latest in-vogue fashions and homewares, there’s no doubt the Coast is becoming increasingly chic.
From Patonga and Pearl Beach in the south to Budgewoi and Blue Bay in the north, it is our thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable mission to capture all that we love and all that is chic and beautiful about the Coast, on this website.
Through Coastal Chic, keep up to date with the Coast’s new hot spots as well as some trusty old favourites that haven’t lost their charm.
Coastal Chic was established by Christine Allen, a born and bred Sydneysider who moved north to live by the ocean. A PR consultant by day, she spends her weekends in a state of beach bliss with her keen fisherman hubby Tim, baby Levi, and Rocky the cat, in their hillside bush retreat just a stone’s throw from the sea.
